TaxInfo'95 - For the 1995 Filing Season
This release contains all the forms and instructions for 1994 and
1995 that were available when issued. If you want to stay current
and wish to receive updates, see the Registering and Ordering
Updates section which follows.
Installation
Installation via setup is straight forward, just execute setup
from the CD-ROM and follow the prompts. This is accomplished
by selecting the File menu item from the Program Manager, then the
Run menu item from the file menu. Enter for the Command prompt
"D:SETUP", where the "D:" is replaced by the disk specifier for
your CD-ROM drive. Then press the OK button to begin
installation of TaxInfo.
Using TaxInfo
The database of Tax information can be viewed, filled out, or printed
using the TaxInfo program after installation. You select blank forms
or other information to print using the Print Blanks Selection dialog
which is displayed from the File: Print Blanks menu or the Print Blanks
button on the command bar. You select forms or other information
to view or fill out using one of the Index dialog boxes which
are displayed from the File: New sub menu or a button on the
command bar. There are five indices each of which has a command bar
button: Forms, Forms Instructions, Schedules, Schedules
Instructions, and publications.
Forms or schedules can be opened, filled out, saved, and printed with
the TaxInfo program. Initialy forms are opened with the File: New
sub menu. When they are open and filled out they can be saved with
the Save As (and subsequently the Save) item from the File menu, and
printed with Print from the File menu.
Forms, schedules and other tax items can be filled out easily if they
have a template. After opening initially with File: New, a cursor will
appear in the first field to fill out. Move to other fields
by using the tab keys or by clicking with the left mouse button on
the field.
For those items without a template, the TaxInfo program allows you
to easily create fields which can then be filled out. Fields created
can be saved to create a template using Save As Template from the
File menu.
Templates are provided for the following forms and schedules: 1040 and
its schedules A, B, C, C-EZ, D, E, EIC, F, R, and SE; 1040A and its
schedules 1, 2, and 3; 1065 and its schedules D and K-1; 1120 and its
schedules D, H, and PH; 1120S and its schedules D and K-1; 1118

this allows you to point to an item you wish help on and select
it to receive help. To turn context sensitive help on, press the
Context Sensitive Help button on the command bar. This button
is the rightmost button that has a picture of a pointer and a
question mark on it. For more information about context
sensitive help, turn context sensitive help on and then select
context sensitive help.
TaxInfo also includes regular help which you get to by selecting a
menu item from the help menu. Included is help to use the help
system (Using Help), help for using TaxInfo (Index), help to
identify TaxInfo (About), and help with the tax forms
(Annotated Forms List). Forms help is also available via a
command bar button.

Help first start up the TaxInfo program by double clicking its icon,

About the Tax Forms
The Federal tax forms, schedules, instructions and publications
included with TaxInfo'95 are very close to exact copies when printed
at 300 DPI of the actual printed forms and schedules. One of the viewing
or display versions, for VGA, uses some substitute fonts to enable
viewing in VGA resolution at 90 DPI. The DSP display version is scaled
down from the print version to 140 DPI but uses all the original fonts.
When printing the forms for filing use a good quality 8.5" by 11" or
8" by 11" white paper and black ink and always print at 300 DPI.
If printing at some resolution lower than 300 DPI the forms may or
may not be of good enough quality for filing.
Because of the great variety of printers that are possible to be used,
you must determine whether the quality of the printed form is good
enough for filing. If printed at 300 DPI the quality of the form
should be considerably better than a photocopy of the original form.
Note that the payment vouchers for Forms 940, 940-EZ, 941, 942, 943,
and 2290 may not be used. (These vouchers are sometimes on the bottom
of the form.) The IRS requires that you use the vouchers that they
send you.
